How did you get started in Crown Vic racing?
My team gaskins Motorsports started building crown vics to do road course racing in the Rockingham NASCAR infield. When that series ended smoky gaskins had the itch to get back out on dirt. After a year of being back on dirt Derick gaskins asked if I wanted to try it without back up car roughly 30 minutes before we were leaving to head to a race. It was the first racing experience I’ve had to scare me and that made me fall in love.
Why did you choose Crown Vic racing?
I’d like to say it chose me.
Racing experience and biggest highlight
Before I started on dirt, I did some dirt track racing with my father Stewart Russell jr. Derick gaskins got me into drift so most of my racing experience would come from drifting. I think my biggest racing highlight is when my daughter got to watch me get my first 3place finish and she ran up to me when I got out the car saying my daddy wins.
Car nickname or setup details
My Vic goes by 2 names. Chocolate rocket on good nights and KoonKar on the rough ones.
Toughest track and why
Easily Lancaster because the straights are so long and the fast line is on the wall.
People who helped your racing journey
Derick gaskins, smoky gaskins and the whole gaskins Motorsports family.
Fun fact fans might not know
I guess a fun fact would be I held the record at union county drag way for a few years for the youngest age to make a full pass.
Goals for the season
I want to take my first mud bath.
