Get to Know David
Name, hometown, and track(s) raced
My name is David Earhart from York, NE. I've raced at Boone County Raceway in Albion, NE, US30 Speedway near Columbus, NE, Beatrice Speedway in Beatrice, NE. I will be running Off Road Speedway in Norfolk, NE, Rooks County Speedway in Stockton, KS, and Adams County Raceway in Corning, IA.
How did you get started in Crown Vic racing?
I first saw them at Junction Motor Speedway before it closed down and started looking into them. After buying a car and racing it the first time, I was hooked.
Why did you choose Crown Vic racing?
I really like that they're inexpensive fun and that the rules in this area are keeping them stock.
Racing experience and biggest highlight
I've raced everything from what were called Broncos back in the early 2000's, Sport Compacts, karts, and everything in between. My biggest highlight was a few wins at Dawson County Raceway last year.
Car nickname or setup details
My car's name this year is The Great Grape Ape. Last year was The Joker. I don't really have any setup on the car since everything has to be stock.
Toughest track and why
I have some pretty stiff competition pretty much wherever I race, but I would have to say the toughest track for me is Boone County Raceway. It's a little bullring track with huge banking. I love running on it, but it can bite you if you're not up on the wheel.
People who helped your racing journey
The main people who have helped me in my journey are my parents. They've been there for pretty much all of my races and have been a huge help in the pits. My sister is always supportive and comes to the races to video from the stands when she can. In the past couple of years, my wife has been my biggest cheerleader along with putting up with me, my kids and brother-in-law have also been a big help when they can make it to the races.
Fun fact fans might not know
They're kind of difficult to see sometimes, but I carry a couple of mascots in the car with me. This year, I have two fuzzy monkeys the are just hanging around on the roll cage. Before that I had a snail that I had for many years.
Goals for the season
My goal for this season is to consistently place in the top 5 at minimum for every feature.
Shoutouts to sponsors, crew, or supporters
I would like to thank my sponsors; Cyclonaire, Inc and York Dental Associates. Of course all of my thanks to any that help me in the pits, or anywhere else, any fans that I might have, and last but absolutely not least my wife for letting me do this crazy thing.
